What skills and experience we're looking for

The DART faculty are looking for an exceptional classroom teacher with the ability to ideally teach both DT and Art at KS3 and ideally (but not essential) 3D Design at KS4. The successful candidate will join a collegiate, supportive and friendly department who are keen to ensure outstanding provision for all our students irrespective of starting point and innate capabilities. We seek to nurture visual literacy through an engaging and supportive environment that provides all students with the opportunity to explore, create and invent; taking inspiration from an increasingly diverse selection of global artists to ensure opportunity and diversity. The DART team currently consists of an Art, Food and DT specialist and is supported by two part time technicians.

This is a warm and friendly school with a family feel where
each child is appreciated and cared for who they are, as well
as what they achieve and go on to become.

Being a smaller than average secondary school, our size is
definitely our strength. We pride ourselves on being a kind
and caring student focussed school, where every member of
staff makes it their business to get to know each child as
soon as they enter the Marlwood family.

Our pastoral care is second to none. Our dedicated pastoral
staff work very closely with students to understand their
needs and provide the very best support and care. After all,
happy children are more likely to be successful children!
Marlwood has recently received investment that is funding a
facelift of the school to include new classrooms for art,
design technology and science. The school also benefits
from expansive grounds including tennis courts, astro pitch
and a multi-purpose playing field. There is a real sense of
fresh air at the school!
