Teacher of Art job summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons using a range of creative materials and techniques
  • Contribute to courses including AQA GCSE Art, GCSE Textiles and Edexcel GCSE Photography
  • Plan and deliver a broad, inspiring and inclusive curriculum
  • Use formative assessment and differentiation to secure excellent progress for all learners
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive Creative Faculty (Art, Music and Drama)
  • Contribute to enrichment activities, clubs, showcases and productions
  • Take on the role of Form Tutor, supporting students’ personal development and wellbeing
  • Play an active part in department development and whole-school life

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree
  • Is a passionate advocate for creative education
  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management
