What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an outstanding, passionate, and creative teacher of Art, to join our growing school, in September 2025.

Your opportunity:

You will join a small Creative Arts Team who are friendly, supportive, hardworking and passionate about their subjects. This is part of a larger team within the Arts Faculty working alongside Drama, Music, DT and Food Technology.

We are supported by an Arts and Technology Technician who works closely with teachers to ensure the best possible experience for our students. We have 2 new Art rooms, one of which has a photography studio at the back, both rooms have laptops with Photoshop installed on them, we have a kiln and a darkroom. We run Bronze and Silver Arts award for our KS3 students and we have achieved Artsmark Gold Award which recognises our exceptional commitment to creativity and we are currently in the process of renewing this valuable recognition for our community.

We offer learning experiences to every year group outside of the classroom to galleries and Kew Gardens and try to collaborate with an artist annually on a project. The last two years have seen Art and Photography GCSE results as the top performing subjects in the school and above national average with Art at 78% 9-4 and Photography at 83.3% 9-4.

As an inspirational teacher who embraces creativity and innovation, you will contribute to the design of the curriculum to ensure it is an exciting, relevant, challenging and personalised curriculum.

You will deliver high quality lessons at KS3 and KS4, increasing year on year as the school grows. You will have plenty of CPD opportunities for professional development and growth. Working as part of the GLF Trust comprising of 43 schools, we can support you with career pathways for progression.

We will offer you the support of a leadership team dedicated to helping young people striving for more and as a GLF Schools’ employee, you will be exposed to significant collaboration opportunities across our schools.

  • Teach a range of artistic techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, printmaking and mixed media.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on students' progress.
  • Organise and display students' work within the school and at exhibitions or competitions.
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Stay up to date with current trends in art and education, integrating new techniques and technology where appropriate.
  • Support students preparing for exams, portfolios, and further education in the arts.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as art clubs, school productions, and community art projects.
