VACANCY FOR TEACHER OF ART & PHOTOGRAPHY
Swavesey Village College
Salary: MPS/UPS
Hours of work: 40-80%. Fixed Term until 31st August 2026 (Maternity Cover)
We are looking to appoint a teacher of art and photography who is passionate about providing all students with the opportunity to enjoy and develop high levels of problem-solving and creative making skills.
The Opportunity
Work closely with your subject team to contribute and adhere to the subject schemes of work
Get to know your students quickly so that you can adapt teaching plans to meet the needs of your students
Participate in delivery of extra-curricular activities including weekly after-school clubs
Keep accurate records of assessments and homework in line with faculty expectations
Liaise with the SENDV team and work collaboratively with teaching assistants
To fully comply with all policies and procedures
Play an active role in the maintenance of exceptional behaviour across the College
Carry out duties in accordance with the duty rota
Make sure that all deadlines for reporting are met
Ensure that parental communication takes place in line with the college policies and is conducted with the utmost professionalism and courtesy
Undertake other duties as reasonably required by the Principal

- Have excellent subject knowledge
- Possess good interpersonal skills to effectively influence, inspire and encourage all abilities
- Be a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude both in the classroom and in our extra-curricular provision
- Possess outstanding communication skills and personal integrity
- Be committed to building positive relationships with students to help them access a broad and challenging curriculum
