What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic classroom practitioner who displays the passion, drive and energy to join our successful and well-established art department at Ribblesdale School. The department provides pupils with an array of opportunities within lesson time as well as extracurricular activities to enable them to develop their skills and knowledge and showcase their talents. This offer leads to high uptake of both art and textiles at GCSE.

The department boasts large, recently refurbished art and textiles rooms, fully equipped with all the facilities necessary to deliver a varied and contemporary curriculum. The department is supported by a technician who works alongside the staff to assist in the delivery of curriculum activities, trips, gallery visits and workshops. Members of the department are unapologetically ambitious and avidly explore the latest educational research to inform and refine their curriculum and pedagogy, using new ideas and strategies alongside effective and well-established teaching and learning methodology.

As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to teach art at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. As a through-school, this position also presents an exciting opportunity to teach art across the entire age range from 4-16. We want a teacher who shares our ambitious approach to teaching and learning and who strives to achieve excellent results, maximising pupil progress. We have high aspirations for all our learners and aim to support our pupils in becoming independent and self-regulating life-long learners.
