Teacher of Art job summary

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” So said Edgar Degas—and we say the same.

We are seeking to appoint an innovative, passionate and forward-thinking Teacher of Art to join our successful and dynamic Art Department. This is a maternity cover position, but for the right candidate, there may be opportunities to join us on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be committed to making a positive impact on the young people at our school through creative and engaging teaching. They will join a department with a strong track record of good results and a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and high expectations.

To really inspire the next generation of confident, successful and resilient learners you need an environment with the right conditions. You need an environment where pupils genuinely want to learn. An environment in which your colleagues are as geeky about your subject as you are. These are the conditions that we can provide for practitioners who join us at Wednesfield Academy. As Ofsted recognised, we have worked together to “develop a highly ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum” (Feb 25).

We want people who are similarly driven. We want people who will not only grow the next generation but people who are also eager to take every opportunity to grow themselves. We offer superb professional development opportunities, including the full suite of NPQs. We have “a well-thought-out professional development programme for staff” (Ofsted Feb 25) and work hard as a team.

About us:
