What skills and experience we're looking for

Lavington School is seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed Art and Graphics Teacher to join our outstanding and successful Design and Technology faculty. You should also be an outstanding classroom teacher who will complement our professional, forward-looking and committed staff. The role will also include acting as a form tutor. The successful candidate will be given every opportunity to develop good practice, share teaching and learning ideas and collaborate with individuals and the whole department.

Some of your duties and responsibilities will include, promoting positive attitudes and behaviour within the school and wider community to support students in contributing to the school and wider community e.g. tutor group representatives and charity work. Using a wide repertoire of teaching and learning strategies that will stimulate learning. To monitor the academic progress of students within tutor group, identifying underachievement and supporting students to address this. The successful candidates must play a full part in the life of the school community, to support its distinctive mission and ethos and to encourage staff and students to follow this example. Lavington School is a mixed comprehensive school and currently has 965 students on roll, aged 11 to 18. It is situated on the western edge of the village of Market Lavington, about six miles south of Devizes, in the heart of rural Wiltshire. Numbers on roll have grown over the years with the school being over-subscribed. In 2018 the school opened its Sixth Form as a satellite centre of Devizes School.
