Sponne is a successful, over-subscribed community comprehensive school with 1418 students aged 11-18 on roll and specialist status for Science and Music. Outcomes are very high with 78% of students gaining grades 9-4 in English and Mathematics at GCSE and a positive Progress 8 score.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher of Biology within our outstanding Science faculty with effect from January 2021.The successful candidate will have experience and a proven record of achieving high outcomes in the teaching of GCSE Biology and ideally A level. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and, together with the other Science teachers, maintain a relentless focus on teaching and learning and raising achievement. The role is suitable for NQTs and experienced colleagues.

All students in years 7 to 11 study Science with more than 25% completing the three separate Sciences at GCSE. Biology outcomes are extremely high and the subject is very popular at A level with 2 classes in year 12 and 13 annually. The faculty is friendly and supportive with excellent facilities. Students are enthusiastic and hardworking and grateful for the education and opportunities they receive.

The successful candidate will:

· Have Qualified Teacher Status

· Biology as their Specialism

· Have good teaching skills

· Have to meet the person specification and will be required to apply for a DBS disclosure.

· Must have eligibility to live and work in the UK
