Teacher of Boys PE job summary
Malmesbury School requires an enthusiastic, dynamic and well-qualified teacher of Boy’s PE. The ability to teach another subject will be vital. Applications from ECTs are welcome, but if you are a more experienced teacher and interested in the role, please contact the school. The school occupies a modern building with excellent facilities including a gymnasium and school hall as well as five tennis/netball courts and extensive playing fields which accommodates three rugby/football pitches and other teaching spaces. The school has strong relationships with local partners and has regular use of the sports hall at ‘The Activity Zone’ (Malmesbury sports centre), as well as access to the swimming pool. At Key Stage 4 Cambridge Nationals Sports Science and AQA GCSE PE are offered, and large numbers of students sign up for these courses. A Level PE is also offered, and the faculty follows the OCR exam board. The outstanding extra-curricular programme offered to students is a particular strength with high levels of participation. In rugby Years 10 and the Sixth Form are entered into the National Cup and all year groups take part in rugby fixtures which include involvement in County and Area competitions.
