What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Boys’ PE to join this established, progressive and well-resourced PE department. The PE Department have state of the art facilities comprising a four-badminton courts sports hall, fitness suite and dance studio, in addition to a multi-use games area and multiple netball/tennis hardcourt areas. A commitment to the development of creative and engaging teaching across KS3, GCSE and BTEC L3 is essential.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an outstanding practitioner of PE and an inspirational teacher.
  • Have in-depth subject knowledge across a wide range of activities.
  • Show an excellent commitment to raising attainment through extra-curricular activities.
  • Have energy, enthusiasm, creativity and flair.

What the school offers its staff

Highcrest offers both an excellent induction and support programme for ECTs and an innovative and extensive CPD package for more experienced teachers. This provision of training has been praised as outstanding by an external assessor and highlighted in the local press. For ECTs, we provide weekly CPD meetings with experienced members of staff, time-tabled and protected Mentor Meetings on a weekly basis, subject knowledge time with departments and an extensive personalised CPD plan.
