What skills and experience we're looking for

Leeds West Academy is a happy, inclusive and ambitious school rooted in its community, where strong relationships and shared values enable young people to thrive. In our most recent inspection, Ofsted recognised Leeds West Academy as a school where pupils are happy, feel safe, and benefit from a culture built on care, commitment and community. This reflects the lived experience of our students, families and staff, and why there has never been a better time to join us.

Our vision is to unite and inspire our community through the power of education, opportunity and inspiration, securing successful futures for the children of the west of Leeds. This vision shapes everything we do. We believe that every young person deserves an excellent education and that schools thrive when staff feel trusted, supported and able to do their best work.

As part of the White Rose Academies Trust, Leeds West Academy proudly serves the communities of Bramley and Rodley and is a popular, oversubscribed academy, with increasing numbers of families choosing us as their first choice. Our students engage positively with learning and contribute to a purposeful environment where high standards and strong relationships go hand in hand.

We are equally proud of the culture we have built for our staff. Leeds West Academy is a fabulous place to work, underpinned by a strong sense of belonging and shared purpose. Colleagues are supported to grow and innovate at every stage of their career. We are proud of our exceptional Professional Development provision. It is bespoke and aligned to both individual ambition and whole-school priorities, including opportunities for fully funded qualifications, structured leadership pathways, and meaningful ways to contribute beyond their own role.

Our academy benefits from outstanding facilities within a £30 million modern building, enhanced by a significant expansion in 2023. Bright, well-resourced learning spaces, alongside industry-standard performing arts and sports facilities, support an ambitious curriculum and a rich Personal Development experience for students and staff alike.

We welcome applications from colleagues who share our belief in the transformative power of education and who want to make a meaningful difference to both student outcomes and lives.

If you are passionate about education, committed to inclusion, and excited by the opportunity to grow within a supportive and ambitious community, we would love to hear from you.

Role:

You will teach Computing and Business to key stage 3 and 4, achieving positive outcomes for all groups of students. All lessons are fully resourced with lesson materials provided, although teachers can adapt or create their own.

You will take responsibility for effective assessment, behaviour management, and pastoral care, including form tutoring, ensuring high standards of student achievement and wellbeing. In addition, you will contribute to the wider life of the academy through collaboration with colleagues, curriculum development, enrichment activities, and active participation in meetings, policies, and ongoing professional development.

At the White Rose Academies Trust in Leeds, we are committed to fostering a dynamic and innovative learning environment that inspires both our students and

staff to excel. Choosing a role with us means joining a diverse and forward-thinking community dedicated to educational excellence. Our Trust is built on a foundation

of inclusion and equality, and we are proud of the incredible progress we have made in delivering an outstanding education to the young people in our care.
