About this Role

Teacher of Business and Economics

Salary: Teacher Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale

Hours of work: 50% of full time (possibility of additional hours in the future to be discussed at interview)

Our friendly, well-resourced and thriving department offers both Business and Economics at KS4 and KS5 and as such we are looking ideally for a teacher with experience in teaching GCSE Economics additionally to Business, or experience teaching key stage 5 Economics looking to expand their teaching skills into key stage 4. The successful candidate will be an accomplished classroom teacher with excellent subject knowledge and the confidence to teach across the age ranges.

The department delivers GCSE Business and Economics, A Level Business, Economics and Accounting; as well as BTEC L3 Diploma in Business, so an ability to teach across a range of these qualifications is essential.

Responsibilities

Keep accurate records of assessments and homework in line with faculty expectations

To fully comply with all policies and procedures

Play an active role in the maintenance of exceptional behaviour across the college

Carry out duties in accordance with the duty rota

Make sure that all deadlines for reporting are met

Ensure that parental communication takes place in line with the college policies and is conducted with the utmost professionalism and courtesy

  • Qualified Teacher Status and degree in specialist subject
  • Experience of teaching at KS4 to KS5
  • Evidence of securing high outcomes from students
  • Ability to use IT to support effective teaching and learning
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • Effective form tutoring and committed to the importance of pastoral support
  • Understand and be a proud advocate of the five values of all Meridian Trust schools
  • Believe that students make the best progress when teaching is well planned and well delivered
