Teacher of Business job summary
Teacher of Business
Starting Date: September 2021 (MPS/UPS)
The successful candidate will be able to teach Business in Key stage 4 and 5, and would be joining a recently appointed headteacher on an inspiring new journey for the school. The school is open to employing either an experienced colleague or someone new entering the profession.
We are looking for a committed Business teacher who has a passion for their subject and a clear understanding of how to raise standards. Business as a subject is very popular at both KS4 and KS5 and contributes well to examination performance. Within key stage three, the Business & Enterprise scheme is embedded into the school’s calendar and enriches the curriculum experience of all. PE also remains an extremely popular subject taught at all key stages.
The successful candidate may also need to teach PE or Geography at KS3. Both departments possess a breadth of experience and will be very supportive. PE staff show considerable commitment to a range of extra-curricular opportunities. Borden students compete at district and county level in a wide range of sports: football, rugby, cricket, hockey, handball, athletics etc. The department has successfully run an inclusive as well as a competitive extra-curricular programme and there would be a huge amount of support available for the successful candidate. The Geography department is highly successful and the subject is very popular amongst our students.
You will have a clear personal ethos and an up to date pedagogical understanding about the best approaches to teaching boys. You will equally be committed to the Borden values of kindness, creativity, courageousness, respect and resilience, underpinned by our ethos to ‘strive forward together’. Consequently, you will possess the enthusiasm, drive and determination to achieve the best for all students that you are responsible for and to play a key role in developing our modern community grammar school.
