Required September 2025

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, innovative, and enthusiastic Teacher of Business Studies to join our fantastic existing team in order to assist with the development of the department. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding teaching practitioner, who has enthusiasm for their subject, is able to motivate and inspire students, and will further support the high achievements of the department. We have a large 6th form offering of BTEC Level 3 Business and BTEC Level 3 Law. Last Year we had 100% Distinction* - Merit in all courses. We also offer Edexcel GCSE Business Studies at Key Stage 4 and want to continue to build the curriculum offer in the department in this area.

Equitas Academies Trust was formed in September 2012 and incorporates Aston Manor Academy (Secondary) and Chilwell Croft Academy (Primary). Both Academies are happy, exciting, and inspiring learning environments for their children who are from a vibrant mix of cultures. The staff and Trustees have a great sense of pride in their schools and care passionately about the pupils they serve. We are consistently in the top 15% of schools nationally for achievement.

Aston Manor Academy serves a culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged catchment area yet year on year produces excellent results for its very deserving students. We firmly believe that one of the key hallmarks of Aston Manor Academy is the positive, friendly, and supportive ethos that enables all of our students to make progress, both academically and in their personal development. Aston Manor’s school ethos is ‘All Different, All Equal, All Achieving’. In our last Ofsted inspection (June 2017) we were judged to be Outstanding in all areas. In addition, our Sixth Form is one of the best in Birmingham for attainment and progress and we are extremely proud of our Key Stage 4 progress and attainment in 2024..

Due to the nature of the department, this role would suit staff that are experienced at Key Stage 5 and/or experienced at Key Stage 4 and presents a number of exciting opportunities for staff interested in the role. This role will also be well suited to an ECT looking for their first role. A potential fixed term TLR3 would be available to an exceptional candidate who has experience and would be flexible based on this experience and the needs of the department.

As an employer, Equitas Academies Trust offers:

  • A supportive and nurturing working environment
  • A commitment to CPD opportunities
  • Employee well-being benefits including access to BHSF Connect, a technology scheme (Curry’s) and a cycle-to-work scheme
