Outcomes at the Academy at Key Stage 4 are in the top 8% of all schools nationally with a Progress 8 Score of +0.71. In 2024, St Mark’s Church of England Academy became the fourth best performing school for A Level outcomes in the country, with a progress 8 score of +0.88.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced teacher of Business and Economics who can deliver an enriching curriculum at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, whilst raising the profile of both subjects across the Academy. This is a unique opportunity to help grow and develop the Economics and Business department at our academy. The teacher will harness the potential to embed the Business & Economics curriculum, within the landscape of today’s world and empower students with the critical mindset to analyse and future plan for society.
You would be expected to develop, plan and deliver highly effective learning experiences to all students across every key stage and lead a transformational extracurricular offer. Economics will be a new curriculum offer at St Mark's for September and therefore the teacher will have the opportunity to lead on the implementation and impact of this subject.

St Mark’s Church of England Academy is a 11-18 Academy based in the South London borough of Merton. The Academy is rapidly improving as demonstrated by its rapid increase in GCSE headline figures.
