Teacher of Business Studies (Part time) job summary

Do you have what it takes to inspire the next generation of Business Entrepreneurs and develop skills and knowledge in students to prepare them for the 21st century in a world full of exciting new opportunities?

We are seeking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner who is an enthusiastic, innovative and engaging teacher of Business Studies, Enterprise and Travel and Tourism and related subjects to join a dynamic and expanding team at the Academy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and support a designated curriculum area as appropriate
  • Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher
  • Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • Contribute to raising standards of student attainment
  • To share and support the Academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth
  • Support and maintain collaborative relationships with staff and external professionals.
  • The successful candidate must hold QTS or equivalent and an honours degree in Business Studies or related subject

Please note there are also regularly other exciting TLR opportunities within the Academy to take on whole school projects and other roles for further development.

Our last Ofsted inspection judged the Academy to be good in all categories and for overall effectiveness with some excellent feedback across all subjects and our Pastoral Care.

You will have/show:

  • Practical skills and expertise as outlined in the Job description
  • A passion and vision for working with students in their personal, social and emotional needs as well as their academic development
  • The ability to motivate and inspire students
  • Experience of delivering Business Studies or related subjects at KS4 or equivalent
  • Confidence in dealing with students across different age ranges particularly Key Stage 4 and 5
  • The ability to teach A Level / Level 3 courses offered in the department is highly desirable
  • The ability to teach a second subject when needed such as Computer Science, ICT, Media, or other related subjects is desirable
  • The passion to enrich the lives of our students and contribute to the development of Cultural Capital to enhance the life opportunities for our students
