What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Chemistry Teacher who is either on the MPS or an ECT.
The Chemistry Department here at King Edward’s is very successful and all students have the option to take Triple Science at GCSE thus enabling students to specialise in Chemistry at an early age in preparation for A Level studies. Each year approximately 2/3rds of the year group will study for the Triple Science route. At A Level Chemistry is popular with two or three sets in Year 12 slimming down to two, or occasionally three in Year 13.
The Department has a consistent track record of preparing students for University and the Science department has a strong regional reputation of excellence for preparing students for entry to Medicine and Veterinary courses.
Given the numbers of students opting for Chemistry at A level, there is plenty of scope for candidates who are keen to develop their A Level teaching or who are passionate about all things Chemistry. Finally, the ability to offer KS3 Physics, or Biology is also required.
