What skills and experience we're looking for

The Portsmouth Academy is seeking to appoint an inspiring Teacher of Computer Science to join our innovative and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced Teacher or ECT who is eager to make a difference to the lives of our students in Years 7 -11.

With the launch of our brand new state-of-the-art computing suite in 2024, we are ready to take digital learning to the next level and we are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for creativity, innovation and technology in education.You will ensure high standards of teaching and learning, keeping our provision effective and aligned with the latest developments in Computer Science education.The successful candidate will primarily teach Computer Science but the role will also include teaching a second subject depending on your skills, experience and the needs of the Academy.

  • Be a qualified Teacher of Computer Science and able to deliver to KS3 & KS4
  • Demonstrate passion for teaching, learning and transforming the life chances of our students
  • Have a track record of outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievement and behaviour
  • Be able to plan and deliver a creative and stimulating curriculum
  • Show commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for every student
