What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors and Principal are seeking an exceptional Computer Science teacher with the energy and vision to teach Computer Science at Chichester Free School. This is an opportunity for a full-time position, although part-time would be possible, ideally for a September 2023 start. However, we would consider a later start for the right candidate or there is potential for an early start for an ECT. There is also the potential for leadership of the subject for the suitable candidate.

We are looking for an individual with strong academic credentials but who also has experience of working in a school, commitment to our values and ideals, where the co-curricular offer is as vital as the rigour of the taught curriculum. The role will suit an outstanding educator with the ability and drive to offer the highest quality of teaching and learning. As an all through school there may be opportunities to teach across all phases, for the right candidate, but this is primarily a Secondary post.

CFS follows national pay scales; this role would be equally suitable for a newly qualified or more experienced teacher. The Upper Pay Scale would be considered for the right candidate and on the agreement of a whole school responsibility in addition to the role outlined in the job pack.

The person appointed to this post will be expected to teach Computer Science across all abilities from at least Years 7 to 11. They will also be expected to take a proactive role in the extra curricular life of the school.

Completed applications should be sent to recruitment@chichesterfreeschool.org.uk by 5pm, 21st March 2023.

Short-listed candidates will be invited to interview week beginning 27th March 2023. We reserve the right to interview throughout this period.

What the school offers its staff

Our successful Computer Science department consists of a dedicated classroom. We offer GCSE Computing as part of our options process. In addition, all Key Stage 3 pupils have computing lessons.

Commitment to safeguarding

CFS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. In accordance with our Child Protection Policy we are unable to process applications without a fully completed application form. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All convictions, cautions and bind-overs, including those regarded as ‘spent’ must be declared when applying. The applicant may post such a declaration in an envelope marked ‘Private & confidential for the Principal’. The successful applicant must obtain List 99 clearance and DBS clearance at enhanced level.
This job post has expired.
