Teacher of Computer Science job summary
This is an opportunity for an NQT or experienced Computer Science Teacher to join our supportive, professional and committed team from April 2019. This post is offered on a fixed term contract to cover the substantive post holder’s Maternity Leave.
The successful candidate will have the ability to teach KS3 and KS4 Computer Science across all age and ability ranges. You will be an effective classroom teacher with the ability to raise the achievement of all students and be keen to play a full part in the life of the school. You will be proficient in programming to at least GCSE standard.
The school has had Computer Science on the curriculum since its inception in 2011 and is popular and successful subject. In 2018 our outcomes for Computer Science were 72% grade 4 or above and 62% grade 5 or above.
The language taught is Python and our current Year 9 and 10 students will be assessed in this language for the NEA.
Prendergast Vale School is an all through school, nursery to Year 11, and rated as Good by Ofsted in February 2018. The school benefits from being part of the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools.
