What skills and experience we're looking for
UTC Sheffield Academy Trust provides a new and dynamic education. We opened our City Centre site in September 2013 specialising in Engineering and Creative & Digital Media and then opened our second UTC on the exciting new Olympic Legacy Park in Sheffield in September 2016 offering opportunities for students in Health Science, Computing and Sports Science. UTC Derby Pride Park joined the Trust in December 2019 offering Engineering and Health & Life Sciences. All 3 UTCs in the Trust are judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified teacher who can support the delivery of Computing, the ability to also support the delivery of GCSE Business Studies would be an advantage. You will work alongside the successful staff team to further develop a centre of excellence focusing on Health Science / Sports Science and Computing.
Under the direction of the Curriculum Director you will support the delivery of a range of qualifications which include; GCSE Computer Science, L2 Cambridge National in IT, L3 Cambridge Technical Certificate, Diploma and Computer Science A-Level, as outlined in the offer on the UTC website. The successful candidate will create additional capacity in the department to ensure the successful implementation of the launch of the T-Level in Digital Production, Design and Development from September 2024 through ongoing planning, employer engagement and the successful securing and delivery of work placements.
You will be a highly skilled practitioner who understands the challenges of educating 13-19 year olds in an employer led technology rich environment. Effective partnership working is absolutely critical to the UTC’s success. We also welcome applications from newly qualified teachers who have the skills and attributes to develop their expertise within our unique environment.

UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is a University Technical College which opened in September 2016 on the Olympic Legacy Park site in north-east Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The UTC is sponsored by The Sheffield College and Sheffield Hallam University, who also sponsor the UTC Sheffield which opened in 2013, Specialising in Computing, Health Sciences and Sport Science. Students can join in Y9 or Y12 to study a combination of GCSEs/A Levels and a technical specialism.
