Who we are

Shavington Academy is the founding school of a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) that began in September 2015. We enjoy an excellent relationship with our local primary schools, contributing to both their curriculum offer and staff professional development. Due to our popularity, we have been oversubscribed in recent years.

As a growing academy, it is our priority to maintain our “close knit, caring and inclusive community” (Ofsted June 2018), whilst also offering the highest academic standards.

We are a school with excellent progress and high aspirations, with several departments in the school achieving outcomes that place us in the top 25% of schools nationally.

As an academy, in 2018 we achieved the AcSEED award, for our approach and provision for the well-being of pupils. We were awarded third place in the national ACCORD awards 2018 for our work on community cohesion and tolerance.

We have met all Gatsby benchmarks and were awarded Careers Mark in April 2019. It is a priority for us to maintain and build on this achievement.
