What skills and experience we're looking for

Leigh Academy Blackheath is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Computing, joining us from September 2026. We are looking for an exceptional teacher with strong subject knowledge who can deliver high-quality learning opportunities for our students in this curriculum area.

We believe that every learner is entitled to an enriching, varied and personalised education: delivered through a broad and balanced curriculum that provides challenge, irrespective of need, starting point or background. Our commitment to maximising the potential of every child, teaching them the skills they need to be successful and nurturing a desire to be a lifelong learner, will prepare them for whichever career path they choose to follow.

Experience of teaching the IB Diploma or other KS5 computing courses is desirable but not essential.Applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified teachers as we can offer fantastic professional development at every stage of a teacher’s career. We can also offer a TLR for the right candidate.

If you want to join a highly successful team who are passionate about research-informed education, and you can inspire learners to go beyond what they are taught and seek what they do not yet know, then we want to hear from you.

Please note that interviews will be held on a rolling basis, so we encourage early applications to avoid missing out on this exciting opportunity.
