Teacher of Computing job summary

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Computing Teacher to join our dedicated team at The Appleton School. As a Computing Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students to embrace the exciting possibilities of technology and computational thinking. We are looking for an individual who can create engaging and challenging lessons that foster a deep understanding and appreciation of Computing across all Key Stages.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver dynamic and differentiated lessons in across the Key Stages, ensuring all students are engaged, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to explore challenging concepts with enthusiasm and confidence.
  • Employ a range of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, enhancing student engagement and understanding.
  • Motivate and engage students through dynamic and interactive lessons, extracurricular activities, and enrichment opportunities that ignite their passion for computing and digital technology
  • Implement various formative and summative assessment methods to monitor and evaluate student progress, providing timely, constructive feedback to support their academic growth and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop, review, and refine the curriculum, participating actively in departmental meetings and contributing to cross-curricular projects and enrichment activities.
