Qualification Criteria
- Qualified to teach and work in the UK
- Degree in Computing or hold a teaching certificate in Computing
- Experience leading department wide projects
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable commitment to raising attainment of all pupils in a challenging classroom environment
- Excellent understanding of both subject and general teaching pedagogy
- Experience of teaching Computing at KS3 and KS4
- Be or demonstrate the potential to become an outstanding teacher with a track record of success
- Effective and systematic behaviour management
- Knowledge of the national secondary education system, examinations and curriculum
- Ability to enhance teaching delivery and learning by the use of ICT.

Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls are looking to appoint an exceptional teacher of Computing with a dynamic and inspirational approach to teaching, an individual that will become an integral part of the department, who will support the department in achieving its ambitious targets and goals. We would like a teacher who believes in collaboration both for students and when working with colleagues. The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to extra-curricular activities within the department as well as the pastoral life of the school.
The Computing Department’s vision is to deliver a subject that all girls aspire to complete and that through challenge, all girls will develop the resilience and ability that leads to excellent progress. Our aim is to instil in our students a skillset and a mind-set which will be of use in every discipline.
We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following:
- Excellent knowledge of programming in Python.
- First class communication skills.
- In touch with the latest development in the world of Computer Science.
- Outstanding track record of teaching Computer Science.
- Ability to work co-operatively and independently within a fast-growing department.
