Barnwood Park is seeking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic teacher of Design and Technology to join our team of experienced and supportive practitioners. The post will suit a creative and flexible teacher willing to be a team player and contribute to the development of new ideas in Design and Technology. NQTs are welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will be required to teach:
KS3: Resistant Materials; Food Technology; Art Textiles (all ideal)
KS4: GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition (essential, WJEC specification); GCSE Design and Technology (ideal, new AQA specification)

The curriculum team consists of specialists in Art, Graphic Products, Food Technology, Textiles and Photography, and is keen to expand its commitment to exploring cross-curricular learning opportunities.

This is a very exciting time to be considering joining us as we changed from being a girls’ comprehensive school to being a mixed comprehensive school in September 2018 and are expanding our numbers from 2019. We have gone through a period of steep slope improvement over the last few years, since 2012. In July 2019, Ofsted again judged the school to be Good and in 2015 the Department for Education recognised the school to be one of the most improved secondary schools in the country.

We have recently undergone a major refurbishment which saw the addition of a new Sports Hall, new Dance and Drama Studios, a new IT suite, an additional DT room and a new Physics Lab.

Teaching and Learning is consistently good or outstanding and this is reflected in the progress students make. Staff at Barnwood Park are committed to ensuring that the students are supported and challenged through inspiring, high quality teaching and learning, through a broad and balanced curriculum which, offers maximum opportunities for success both inside and outside of the classroom.
