The Candidate

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated teacher of design and technology with an infectious passion for their subject to join us at Granville Academy. This role offers an exciting opportunity for you to create innovative and exciting learning opportunities for our students. You will be part of a wider technology team and will receive excellent support and opportunities for development within the academy and across the Trust. Our design and technology team benefit from a wide range of experience and have a track record of developing trainee teachers, apprentices and ECTs.

You must be confident in the delivery of design and technology and have the ambition and dedication to deliver the curriculum intent in line with current practice and research in effective teaching. Teaching will include technology across key stage 3 and key stage 4. All specialisms will be considered.

You will be able to support the promotion of excellent standards of student learning, achievement, progress, attainment and behaviour through working effectively and collaboratively. You will be passionate about your specialist subject and seek to inspire students within all areas of technology.

You must have the ambition and dedication to continue to support the continued growth of positive results and support our wider curriculum offer. Your input will be invaluable and the successful candidate will inspire students within all areas of the technology curriculum. Technology is a popular option at KS4 with groups studying Food GCSE, Engineering and Product Design. Historically, we have also offered Textiles and aspire to grow this offer. This is a department that secures strong GCSE results as a result of the wealth of experience of our team.

Granville Academy joined Affinity Learning Partnership in 2017. We are a Multi Academy Trust currently based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. We consist of 3 Secondary Academies and 4 Primary Academies.
