What skills and experience we're looking for

• A graduate or equivalent in a related subject
• A DfE recognised teaching qualification
• A thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum in your subject
• An understanding of the needs of students across the ability range
• A teacher who can inspire and enthuse students and who uses a range of teaching and learning strategies for effective delivery
• An understanding of the criteria employed in determining student progress in the subject
• An awareness of ways to raise student attainment in the subject
• The ability to use ICT to enhance learning and aid teaching
• Excellent communication skills: written and oral
• Ability to successfully teach the subject up to KS4
• Successful teaching of the subject up to KS5
• Willingness to lead/contribute to extra-curricular opportunities
• Experience of assessment of student progress

Further details about the role

Malmesbury School requires a dynamic, enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of DT, with a specialism to be discussed. The ability to teach up to and including Key Stage 5 is desirable. The school has superb accommodation and the Design and Technology Faculty is housed in a suite of specialist rooms, all with high quality equipment including a dedicated ICT room. The faculty has close links with the James Dyson Foundation which has been very generous in their support of the School in providing bursaries for some of our A- level Design and Technology students as well as new laser cutters, 3D printer for students to use in their design work. The Design and Technology faculty has a history of excellent examination results and all subjects are very popular with students.
