What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and motivated teacher of design technology with a passion for their subject and the ability to enthuse and engage students. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and motivated professional and would be suitable for an outstanding teacher/ECT who wants to work in a busy and vibrant Design Technology department. An ability to be able to contribute to all areas for example Textiles, Food, Design and Technology would be advantageous, but not essential. You will be required to teach both key stages three and four with the possibility of opportunities at key stage five for the right candidate. The department enjoys modern, well-equipped facilities with good ICT access.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is keen to keep their subject knowledge up to date, and whose passion for the subject is shown in both their teaching and their discussions with colleagues. The position also includes the role of form tutor, where the tutor is expected to deliver a core tutorial programme to their form. They will also be integrated into our house system – where the seven houses help to create a support network and opportunity for rewards and active participation in a range of activities for the students.
