What skills and experience we're looking for

Millthorpe School is looking to appoint an inspirational teacher with a proven record of outstanding practice, or the potential to become outstanding with our support, to work within our technology teaching team to enable our students to become ‘the best that they can be.’

The successful candidate must be a highly effective and reflective teacher, with the confidence to teach across all Design Technology disciplines. The role will also include some teaching of KS4 Child Development, so experience in this area would be an advantage. You will be committed to ensuring the highest standards for our young people to support their future learning and adult life.

The Creative Faculty currently comprises six teachers and two technicians. As well as a Head of Faculty there are two subject leaders who support aspects of Design Technology leadership, and a subject leader for Art. The department has a number of experienced teachers and others newer to the profession.

All students study Design Technology at KS3 and the faculty run many popular courses at KS4 including Art, Graphics, 3D Design, Textiles, Food and Engineering. Colleagues often teach in areas of specialisms at KS4 and across disciplines at KS3. Art is currently taught by Art specialists. You would be required to teach various aspects of Design Technology.

Interviews will be held during the week commencing 10 March 2025.
