What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational teacher of Design and Technology. The position will suit an experienced teacher or a teacher returning to the profession

Design Technology is a small department with technician support and a dedicated workshop facility that includes 3D printing facilities. The department also has its own laptops with access to CAD software and a new state of the art laser cutter and a CNC router. Staff have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the Sigma Trust to share resources, ideas and build collaborative relationships.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Be fully qualified to teach through the secondary range for Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Demonstrate an enthusiasm for the subject which will inspire student progress
  • Demonstrate a capacity to design materials that are differentiated and will engage students in the learning process
  • Experience of IT and a willingness to use it to plan and teach lessons
