Teacher of Design & Technology job summary
We are looking for a dynamic teacher of design & technology who is able to teach across the specialisms, is a strong practitioner and has a passion for inspiring students. This is the perfect opportunity to work within a dynamic faculty and to help to support and further develop our exceptional provision within the academy. As an academy we are committed to arts, design and creativity within our curriculum.
We are a highly sought after and well-established comprehensive in East Oxford with over 1200 students including 6th Form. A strength of Oxford Spires is the warm, welcoming culture for students and staff alike and a huge sense of community as ‘our children are happy and there is a strong culture of respect across the school’ (Ofsted 2017)
The DT department is a highly respected and pedagogically focused faculty. The subject plays an important role in our richly diverse school community and contributes positively to the experience of our students. As a teacher of DT you will be part of an exceptional team, you will play a key role in further shaping and developing what is already an area of strength within the school. GCSE DT is extremely popular at GCSE. We have also introduced engineering at Level 1 and hospitality and catering at Level 2. Our first cohort of A-Level students started in September 2019.
