Teacher of Design & Technology job summary

Applications will be considered upon receipt, and the vacancy may close early if a suitable candidate is appointed before the closing date.

The Latymer Grammar School is looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology teacher who would enjoy working with engaging and curious students at Key Stages 3 and 4, and although not essential, there is the opportunity to teach A-level. The department is well-resourced with a range of innovative equipment, including 3D printers across its suite of specialised classrooms and workshops. At Key Stage 3, students work across the different design and technology disciplines on a carousel programme, and it is a very popular subject at both GCSE and A levels, for which we use OCR.

Recognising that DT is a wonderfully broad subject in terms of materials, skills and design, the department works closely together to provide valuable support in the planning and delivery of all lessons. The basis of the curriculum centres around the delivery of a wide range of DT areas, and there are plenty of opportunities for CPD training both internally and externally.

Our Design and Technology results are very high, the most recent externally graded results in 2024 being 87.7% of students achieving grades 7-9 at GCSE and at A Level (with 25% achieving an A*, 50% A*/A, 81.3% A*/B and 93.8% A*/C).

This a full-time, permanent role that offers a competitive salary and is ideal for someone ready to develop their teaching skills in a supportive and forward-thinking school community. Whether you are just starting your teaching journey or looking to grow in a new environment, we provide the guidance and encouragement to help you succeed.
