Teacher of Drama and English job summary
We are currently looking to appoint a passionate and motivated Drama and English specialist, to teach both subjects in our vibrant English and Communications Faculty and Drama Department. The school is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted following an inspection in April 2023. We continue to strive for excellence, both academically and personally, for our children and young people.
English is a key department within the school and a popular choice at A level. It is a very well-resourced department, with excellent levels of collaboration between teachers. Our library that has excellent links to the faculty. Drama teaching takes place in a dedicated and well-equipped studio, and students across Key Stage 3 value their learning in this subject, with many participating in extra-curricular opportunities afforded by Drama, and continuing their study through BTEC in Performing Arts at Key Stage 4.
We also run many trips and projects that connect us with local schools and wider organisations. These include a Carnegie shadowing scheme, mock trials, Poetry by Heart, national creative writing competitions, the school productions, and Shakespeare Shorts performances; you will be joining an enthusiastic and creative team.
