Teacher of Drama and English job summary
Wye School is part of United Learning, a group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Schools within United Learning work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. With a shared curriculum and lesson plans from around the group available to all, our teachers have strong foundations to lead the engaging, rounded education our children deserve. The shared curriculum includes assessment support which allows for across group moderation.
Wye School opened in September 2013 with a single intake of Year 7 students who delivered our excellent first GCSE results in August 18, followed by strong GCSE and then A Level results in following years. We are a mixed comprehensive school. Ofsted praised our, ‘very vibrant and strong leadership... clear and aspirational vision,’ and, ‘high level of ambition for the students and the school.’ We are over-subscribed and are only interested in appointing teachers who aim to challenge and fully support outstanding progress for every student.
We are now looking to add to our close-knit team of dedicated and dynamic teaching staff. We want to appoint a Teacher of Drama and English who is capable of teaching to GCSE, with A Level a welcome extra. Drama is delivered by the English department, although the precise level of contribution to that by any one teacher is negotiable. Lead Teacher of Drama is possible for the right candidate.
