We seek a committed full time Drama teacher who is enthusiastic, passionate about the subject and has high expectations of all students. We are looking for someone with the ability to teach Drama at KS3 and to GCSE. At KS3 our curriculum is broad, providing a firm foundation for GCSE. At GCSE we currently follow the Pearson Edexcel GCSE Drama specification. The role will also lead, promote and develop our extra-curricular offer for Drama, supporting us to achieve our ambitious aim to ensure that every child gets involved with performance during their time in our Senior School! The Expressive Arts Faculty currently run an annual Senior School musical in the Spring Term and an outdoor ‘Shakespeare on the Lawn’ performance every summer, as well as regular ‘showcase’ events for Music, Dance and Drama.

This post is the sole teacher of Drama in our school, albeit within a supportive faculty and will have considerable autonomy over curriculum and assessment. Drama forms part of our energetic and exciting Expressive Arts Faculty, comprising of a team of professionals who work together and support each other well. The staff are all subject specialists and are passionate about promoting the arts and getting students involved in all aspects of performance and artistic endeavour. Student outcomes in Drama are strong, as is take up at GCSE.

The successful candidate will be a reflective practitioner who is able to maximise the potential of all our pupils. They will use teaching and assessment effectively to ensure that all pupils know, remember and can apply key knowledge and skills. We are also looking for a colleague who can make a contribution to the wider life of the school, through extra-curricular clubs, trips and visits.
