Teacher of Drama job summary

Are you passionate about helping children achieve their maximum potential, regardless of their starting point? If so, we invite you to join our vibrant team at Tudor Grange Academy Worcester where children flourish both academically, creatively and socially.

In October 2024, Ofsted commended the Academy: "The school aspires to offer a transformative experience for its pupils, and for many, it achieves this goal. Pupils feel genuinely cared for in this friendly, inclusive school. They know that trusted adults keep them safe and will act swiftly to help them if they have any worries. Pupils are encouraged to take full advantage of the distinctive opportunities available to nurture their talents and expand their horizons. As one pupil explained, 'There is something for everyone here.' ":

We relentlessly pursue our mission to establish ourselves as a truly great school at the heart of the community we serve. The Academy is a diverse, inclusive school for girls and boys from Year 7 to Sixth Form, where high expectations are set for everyone in our community. Our TUDOR values—Tolerance, Unity, Democracy, Opportunity, and Respect—are the golden strands that run through every aspect of our school.

Department information

The Drama Department is a vibrant hub of creativity and works collaboratively with the Music Department which support shows and host several musical concerts and performances. Renowned for its dedication to excellence, the department plays a central role in the cultural life of the school. Each year, students and staff collaborate to produce two major productions: a play and a musical, which are highlights of the school calendar and showcase the exceptional talents of our students.

A rich and diverse extra-curricular programme supports the department's ethos, offering opportunities for students of all abilities to engage in activities such as drama clubs and performance workshops. The department's inclusive approach ensures that Drama is not only popular but also a source of pride across the school community. The department has its own dedicated 300 seat theatre with sound and lighting rigs and dedicated changing rooms, as well as a drama studio and a teaching workshop space. The department also has extensive wardrobe and set resources.

With a strong tradition of success and support from staff, students, and parents alike, the department is ready to welcome an enthusiastic Drama specialist who is eager to inspire and build upon the department’s achievements. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to foster a love of creativity and performance in the next generation.
