An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a dynamic and inspirational practitioner to join our Economics and Business Studies Department from September 2026. We offer KS5 Economics (Edexcel) and KS4 & KS5 Business. Due to the popularity of Economics at Sharnbrook Academy, we are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher with a specialism in Economics. Applicants with strong industry experience and a genuine passion for teacher are also encouraged to apply. You will be joining an experienced team and there is an option of part-time working for a Teacher of Economics or full-time for a Teacher of both Economics and Business Studies.

This post will be wonderfully rewarding experience for the successful candidate as they will be joining a supportive team which is part of our wider Meridian family of teachers.

The ideal candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status desirable although not essential. Applicants with strong industry experience and a genuine passion for teaching are encouraged to apply, particularly if candidates have lecturing or experience in an educational setting.
  • Degree in specialist subject
  • Evidence of securing high outcomes from students
  • Ability to use IT to support effective teaching and learning
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • Effective form tutoring and committed to the importance of pastoral support
