Teacher of Economics (MPS/UPS) job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a talented and committed team within the Business Department. Currently A Level Economics is taught solely by the Head of Department with GCSE Economics taught by other members of the team, but we are keen to develop specialism within the team to teach this popular subject, across both KS4 and KS5. As well as offering GCSE and A level Economics, the department also offers GCSE and A Level Business alongside A Level Accounting.
Kesgrave High School is a large 11- 19 school which has over 1850 students on roll including over 320 students in the Sixth Form. In 2025 the performance of the whole school was strong with 71% of pupils achieving a Grade 4 or higher in both English and Mathematics and 52% 5+.
Applications would be welcome from talented teachers at all levels of experience, including ECTs.
The department has impressive facilities, including well-resourced teaching rooms and resource areas, including a flourishing library. We also have the benefit of full reprographic and administration support.
This an exciting time to join the school securing the best possible outcomes for our young people in a nurturing, supportive environment. We have a disruption-free learning approach to behaviour, leaders are highly visible and supportive so that teachers can teach highly effective lessons.
Staff benefit from excellent conditions of service and we are committed to personalised CPD and career opportunities both within school and across our Trust.
We are proud to be part of East Anglian Schools Trust (EAST) alongside Farlingaye High School, Bungay High School, Castle East School, Holbrook Academy, EAST SCITT and six primary schools Aldeburgh, Wickham Market, Easton, Kyson, Leiston and Saxmundham with whom we work closely with.
