Start Date: 24 August 2026
BBG Academy seeks to appoint an inspiring and ambitious teacher of English to join our strong and dedicated English department. The curriculum is innovative, well-planned and embedded, empowering teachers to adapt for their own classes. Students are enthused and engaged with the curriculum, leading to significantly higher than national outcomes at GCSE. The successful candidate will have an outstanding teaching ability, the skills to motivate and engage students, particularly those with SEND.
We have a reputation for high expectations for all, excellent staff/student relationships and a commitment to the personal and professional development of its staff. The Trust is recognised as one of the top performing Trusts in the country and is committed to providing private school opportunities in a modern comprehensive environment. We believe that traditional values of discipline and respect are sacrosanct. We do not tolerate bullying, defiance or rudeness to staff and this has made for a harmonious and safe learning environment for our young people, and a supportive environment for staff. We are a happy and well run organisation and this is an extremely exciting time to join us. Also, as a growing Multi-Academy Trust, there are always opportunities for career development and progression for ambitious and committed colleagues.
We want our staff to develop their pedagogy in a way that fits their own skills and expertise to benefit their students, but which is rooted in what we know impacts learning. We do not have a prescribed format for lessons but use a range of proven strategies to accelerate progress. Teachers make their own judgments about how to engage their students and how to deliver and embed content, while following the department curriculum.
The successful candidate will enjoy access to high quality CPD. You will also be joining a happy Trust where 95% of colleagues agreed that they enjoy working here and 92% would recommend us to a friend or colleague (taken from 2022 staff wellbeing survey).
If you want to work in an environment where you can develop your skills, have the freedom to use your own style and methods of teaching and use an innovative Resilience Curriculum to challenge students to be the most resilient learners that they can be, apply to join us today.
Prospective candidates are welcome to contact Karen Marshall, PA to the Principal at: karen.marshall@bbgacademy.com to arrange a discussion about this opportunity.

At the Rodillian Multi Academy Trust, we are committed to doing things differently – creating schools that students want to attend, and where colleagues want to work. We raise aspiration levels for staff, students and schools by encouraging creativity in the classroom, and by giving our staff freedom to experiment with their teaching, as part of our pioneering curriculum. All of this is guided by our Positive Discipline policy – a traditional approach to behaviour management.
The Academy instils in all students a “Growth Mindset” which is a belief that intelligence is far from fixed or inherited but an area where we can all improve if we work hard and learn from our mistakes. This mindset is placed at the heart of teaching and learning and curriculum design and enables our young people to see their experiences within school and beyond as a place to develop their abilities and nurtures them to see challenges as opportunities to flourish.
We have high expectations of our students and staff to deliver the highest standards. Teachers are encouraged to be imaginative and creative in the classroom in order to create motivational and inspiring lessons. The cornerstone of our Trust and our reason for its continued success and expansion is “Positive Discipline”, which enables us to reward good progress, behaviour and outstanding work.
