We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational teacher who:
- Has a strong subject knowledge and a love for English literature and language.

- Has a proven track record or strong interest in leading whole-school literacy initiatives.
- Can foster a culture of reading for pleasure and academic success.
- Is a team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Your role will include:
- Teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Leading the development and implementation of the school’s literacy and reading strategy.
- Supporting colleagues with literacy-focused CPD and classroom strategies.
- Coordinating reading interventions and enrichment activities.
- Promoting a reading-rich environment throughout the academy.
The ideal candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status and degree in specialist subject
- Experience of teaching at KS3 to KS4
- Evidence of securing high outcomes from students
- Ability to use IT to support effective teaching and learning
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Effective form tutoring and committed to the importance of pastoral support
- Understand and be a proud advocate of the five values of all Meridian Trust schools
- Believe that students make the best progress when teaching is well planned and well delivered
