Join Our English Department at Washington Academy
Washington Academy, part of Consilium Academies, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Teacher of English to join our successful team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring classroom practitioner who is passionate about English and committed to helping every student achieve their full potential. We are looking for someone who can deliver engaging lessons, foster a love of learning and contribute positively to our inclusive and supportive school community.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
- Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons
- Support students’ academic and personal development
- Maintain high expectations for achievement and behaviour
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including pastoral responsibilities and extra-curricular activities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise standards and outcomes for students
About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
- Can inspire and motivate students of all abilities
- Has excellent classroom management skills
- Is committed to inclusive education and high expectations for all learners
- Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to school life
