A “ground-floor” opportunity to help build English and Literacy across our newly converted Multi Academy Trust.

Due to the growth of Solihull Alternative Provision Multi Academy Trust, expansion of age range to include Years 7 and 8 and a rapid growth in student numbers, we are seeking to recruit an effective, creative and passionate Teacher of Englishto support the smooth implementation of all aspects relating to examinations within the Academy Trust. As we have expanded, we have continued to recruit committed, passionate and talented staff who ensure a full range of interventions to help change the outcomes of and life chances for our students for the better.

The Trust ensures all students across the Local Authority have access to a high-quality alternative educational provision.

The Trust provides a safe, well-ordered, caring and highly supportive learning environment that will deliver high-quality education to students who need a more closely-focused learning solution. The use of outstanding, inspiring teaching and clear, consistent guidance and support will play a pivotal role in helping each child fulfil their maximum potential for growth, self-worth, and self-control. Our students will benefit from small class sizes where an emphasis will be placed on a personalised approach to learning.

The successful candidate must be a qualified teacher able to teach English Language and Literature at GCSE level, and to provide alternative strategies in their teaching designed to motivate, encourage and enthuse pupils.The ability to forge positive relationships with challenging pupils is essential.

The suitable candidate for this essential position will be:

  • an excellent, experienced practitioner with a proven record of good academic results and impact in English with students of all abilities
  • passionate about realising the potential of all children within a multi-cultural and inclusive school
  • able to lead quality first, wave 1 provision and implement academic intervention for individuals and groups across a range of abilities and learning needs
  • committed to maintaining and nurturing our ethos where all pupils can feel equally valued for their culture and contributions
  • enthusiastic about taking a full and active role in the development of the new Academy
  • ready to inspire and intervene with students who need a fresh start and new approach to reach their potential
