The Boswells School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of English. We are looking for the successful candidate to deliver high quality English lessons to complement an already strong provision within our English Faculty. For the successful candidate, there may also be an opportunity to teach A Level, although this is not essential.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an Experienced or Early Career Teacher, in a Faculty full of experience and expertise. You will be joining a school with enthusiastic and dedicated leaders at senior and middle leadership levels and a commitment to the professional development and well-being of staff. We are extremely proud of our academic success and have a deserved reputation as an excellent school. Our innovative approaches to teaching and learning ensure that more students than ever are achieving high levels of academic success.
We are extremely proud of the achievements of our students. 2019 was another superb year for The Boswells School with our GCSE and A Level results making us one of the highest performing non-selective secondary schools in Essex. In 2019, 55% of our A Level students achieved A* to B grades, 88% of our A Level students achieved A* to C grades, 83% of our GCSE students achieved a Good pass (Grade 4+) in Eniglish and 71% of our GCSE students achieved a Good pass (Grade 4+) in Maths.
The percentage of students who achieved the expected levels of progress in English and Mathematics was significantly above the national average as was the percentage of students who achieved more than expected progress in these areas.
