About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting students’ academic progress and personal development, and contributing to the wider life of the school.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Assessing, monitoring and reporting on student progress
- Using a range of teaching strategies to motivate and challenge students
- Creating a positive and safe learning environment with high expectations for behaviour
- Contributing to curriculum development within the English department
- Supporting students’ wellbeing and progress as a Form Tutor
- Contributing to the wider school community, including extra-curricular activities
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant degree
- Be able to teach English across KS3 and GCSE
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge
- Have high expectations of students’ achievement and behaviour
- Be passionate about English and inspiring young people
- Be committed to inclusion and supporting all students to succeed
- Work well as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community
