About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting students’ academic progress and personal development, and contributing to the wider life of the school.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Assessing, monitoring and reporting on student progress
  • Using a range of teaching strategies to motivate and challenge students
  • Creating a positive and safe learning environment with high expectations for behaviour
  • Contributing to curriculum development within the English department
  • Supporting students’ wellbeing and progress as a Form Tutor
  • Contributing to the wider school community, including extra-curricular activities
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant degree
  • Be able to teach English across KS3 and GCSE
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge
  • Have high expectations of students’ achievement and behaviour
  • Be passionate about English and inspiring young people
  • Be committed to inclusion and supporting all students to succeed
  • Work well as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community
