Teacher of English and Humanities job summary
Our aim at Heyford Park School is to provide the best possible education for all our students
At Heyford Park School, our mission is to provide the best possible education for all students in a nurturing and inclusive environment. We are proud to be a warm, welcoming all-through school with a strong sense of community. Our staff body is collaborative, supportive, and genuinely enjoy working together.
Heyford Park School is over-subscribed and growing to 3 form-entry in the secondary phase, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable teacher to join our expanding team. Due to our growth, we are seeking a dynamic educator to teach both English and Humanities, reflecting the need for flexibility in our small but thriving school. This is a flexible role, and we welcome applications from teachers with an English or Humanities teaching background and will consider applications from individuals looking for part-time or full-time work. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher looking to start your journey with the support of our excellent ECT programme in partnership with Bartholomew School, or an experienced teacher seeking new challenges, we offer excellent professional development and career growth opportunities.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school recently rated Good by Ofsted, and to join us at a dynamic point in our journey. As part of the Eynsham Partnership Academy Trust (EPA), our secondary phase is closely supported by Bartholomew School, an Outstanding school as of 2024.
Both English and the Humanities are popular subjects at Heyford Park, with strong results and high student engagement across all Key Stages. Many students opt for Geography and History at GCSE level, whilst all students study, and are entered for, GCSE RE. Our English and Humanities teams are small but strong, with a deep sense of collaboration that extends across the whole school. Support and guidance from dedicated subject specialists will be available to any teacher teaching outside their specialist area. Both the English and the Humanities departments have fully resourced, centralised schemes of work.
Located in the village of Upper Heyford, Heyford Park is easily accessible from Bicester, Banbury, and Oxford, serving the surrounding rural communities.
