The Role

We are seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of English to join our English faculty and deliver high‑quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5. The ability to teach Key Stage 4 and 5 Media is desirable. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons that promote strong progress and high achievement for all students. You will use effective assessment and adaptive teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with SEND, and contribute to curriculum development and wider faculty improvement. The role also involves fostering positive learning behaviours, promoting literacy across the curriculum, and contributing to extracurricular and whole‑school activities.

What We’re Looking For

You will be a qualified secondary teacher with strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature and a clear understanding of current pedagogy, assessment, and curriculum requirements. You will be an effective classroom practitioner with high expectations for student behaviour, engagement, and achievement. We are looking for someone who is reflective, resilient, and committed to continuous professional development, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. You will share our commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the school’s values, and demonstrate enthusiasm for supporting students both academically and personally.
