Full-time, permanent role and a maternity cover opportunity (part-time considered)

Plantsbrook School is seeking two enthusiastic and talented Teachers of English to join our thriving English department from January 2026. We have a permanent, full-time position available, as well as a maternity cover role.

Why Join Plantsbrook?

Our English Department is a vibrant and supportive team of 12 subject specialists and 2 academic coaches. With a collaborative approach to planning, we strive to create a positive and inspiring learning environment where both staff and students can thrive.

We teach a rich and challenging curriculum designed to foster a love of learning, broaden perspectives, and develop critical skills. At KS3, students study a diverse range of texts from Romeo and Juliet to Boy 87, exploring themes such as identity, empathy, and global issues. At GCSE we follow the AQA syllabus, and at KS5 we offer English Literature, English Language, Media Studies, and Creative Digital Media Production—all popular and well-subscribed courses.

This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to embed digital learning strategies, including the use of Chromebooks to enhance reading and writing.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Is passionate about English and committed to delivering engaging and challenging lessons.
  • Has strong classroom management skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Can inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Shares our commitment to inclusion, equal opportunities, and safeguarding.
  • Is optimistic, enthusiastic, and brings energy and creativity to the classroom.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and experienced team with opportunities for professional development.
  • A forward-thinking school culture with a strong emphasis on student wellbeing and achievement.
  • The chance to contribute to a thriving English department with a history of strong outcomes.

If you would like to arrange a visit or discuss the role, please contact our HR Department at hr@broadleafpt.co.uk.
