Job Title: Teacher of English Required: ASAP Contract: Permanent Salary: Main/Upper Teacher Pay Scale
About the Role: We are looking to appoint a Teacher of English who is looking for a new challenge and is willing to join an innovative and forward-thinking department. The ideal candidate must have a real passion for their subject and be equipped with the skills to maximise outcomes for students at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. English at Kingsway Park High School aims to motivate and prepare our students for a rapidly changing world, by instilling in them the knowledge and reading, writing and oracy skills needed to be successful in life. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum which is delivered through high quality English lessons that encourage discussion and inspire our students in understanding the significance and influence of context when they are both reading and writing texts. This empowers students with the skills to independently interpret the world around them, become critical thinkers and to articulate their own views effectively. Through modelling intellectual curiosity and through having high expectations for all, English is a place where Kingsway students strive for excellence. Our vision is one of continuous development - we continue to refine our practice and to discover new ways to engage and enthuse the learners in our subject area. We place a high value on students developing resilience, independence and encourage them to strive for high aspirations. We are privileged to have excellent teaching facilities that include interactive whiteboards, visualisers for each of nine classrooms and a bank of Chromebooks available for independent study. We also are lucky enough to have a brand-new library complete with a whole range of exciting novels to inspire our students. We are seeking to appoint a passionate, hard-working, and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join our thriving and successful department. The successful candidate will join a department that encourages collaboration, sharing and working as a team to ensure high quality lessons and resources for all students. The team regularly engages in reading, research and training to ensure that we are at the forefront of developments in English teaching - this includes teaching and learning, progress and attainment of students and curriculum development. In addition, they will actively and fully be involved in our extra-curricular provision and the wider life of the school. It is a very exciting time to join the KPHS English department as we strive to provide outstanding education and improve outcomes for our students. About Kingsway Park High School:

Altus Education Partnership
The Altus Education Partnership is a Multi Academy Trust and was established in April 2017 by the Governing Body of Rochdale Sixth Form College, an outstanding A-Level provider founded in 2010. The college was awarded Outstanding status by Ofsted in 2013 and has developed a national reputation for excellence, having been used in Ofsted case studies for sharing best practice. The development of the Trust stemmed from a commitment to raising aspirations and improving the life chances of young people throughout the borough of Rochdale. In 2019 the Trust was successful in its application to open a new free school, the Edgar Wood Academy, which serves the local community in Middleton and Heywood.
We are committed to supporting all children in their academies to progress to a successful career, life and employment path of their choice.
All our academies will share a collective identity as providers of the highest quality teaching with high expectations of learners, coupled with effective assessment and intervention. Young people in our academies will engage with opportunities to develop their own skills and aptitudes to support their progression, while making valuable contributions to their communities.
