About our Academy
Humberston Academy is an oversubscribed ‘outstanding’ academy located in an affluent area of North East Lincolnshire. With Ofsted recognising the outstanding practice in place for Behaviour and Attitudes, Safeguarding and Personal Development, our students are in safe hands with regards to expert support. Humberston Academy achieved ‘World Class Schools’ status in December 2019 and re-accredited in 2022. Humberston Academy continues to deliver incredible opportunities to young people with a specific focus on STEM enrichment and favourable links to the apprenticeships industry as well as traditional route towards higher education.
Humberston Academy has also been appointed as the Teaching School Hub for the local region which will allow all colleagues to access leading edge career professional development in order to enhance the standard of teaching as well as the opportunity to deliver CPD to colleagues locally in our profession.

About the role
Permanent - 32.5 hours/52 weeks per year
To be an effective teacher (and tutor) who supports and challenges all students to achieve their full potential.
To maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of the teaching of your subject(s) and take account of wider curriculum developments which are relevant to your work.
To plan lessons/activities/tutorials and sequences of lessons to meet students’ individual learning needs
To use a range of appropriate strategies and follow Academy policies for teaching/tutoring, behaviour management and classroom management
To do all that you can to ensure that you safeguard and promote the welfare of students in the Academy
Who we are looking for
High standards of teaching and learning
A good degree in a specialist subject teaching qualification
Nationally recognised teaching qualification
High level skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to teach Science across Key Stages 3-4
A strong classroom teacher with an ability to innovate
Understanding of the importance of a knowledge rich Science curriculum
Able to showcase evidence of the use of technology in teaching and learning
Be flexible and responsive to a changing educational environment
Contribute to whole school initiatives
